FeCl3 Ferric Chloride Anhydrous 25 KG / BAG Used For Engraving On Printing And Dyeing Rollers
Ferric chloride (FeCl3), also known as ferric chloride, is a chloride of trivalent iron. It is hygroscopic and will hydrolyze in moist air. When dissolved in water, it releases a large amount of heat and produces a coffee-colored acidic solution. This solution can etch copper metals and even stainless steel.
At present, the industrial production of ferric chloride includes high-temperature chlorination (pyrometallurgical method), hydrochloric acid method, one-step oxidation method and continuous reaction method. Purification and impurity removal methods include recrystallization, reduction with elemental iron, precipitation by adjusting pH value, sulfide precipitation, and extraction.
Ferric chloride can decompose into ferrous chloride and chlorine gas when heated to 200 ℃ in a vacuum.
2FeCl3 → 2FeCl2 + Cl2↑
Note: Ferric bromide is more prone to decomposition, while ferric chloride only decomposes locally
Flammability:
Ferric chloride can burn in the air to produce iron oxide and chlorine gas.
FeCl3 + 3O2 → 2Fe2O3 + 6Cl2

1. Wastewater treatment: Ferric chloride is used in the treatment of raw water with low oil content, wastewater with high toxicity, high nitrogen content and high COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), etc. It has the advantages of good effect and low price, but at the same time, it can also cause the water color to turn yellow.
2. Dye industry: Ferric chloride can also be used as an oxidizing agent in the production of printing and dyeing cylinder engraving, circuit boards, and fluorescent digital cylinders in the electronics industry, as well as in the dyeing process of Indylic dyes, etc.
3. In the construction industry, ferric chloride can be used to prepare concrete to enhance its strength, corrosion resistance and water resistance. It can also be mixed with ferrous chloride, calcium chloride, aluminum chloride, aluminum sulfate, hydrochloric acid, etc. to form a waterproofing agent for concrete.
4. Inorganic industry: It is used to produce other iron salts, inks or catalysts (such as catalyzing the decomposition of H2O2).
5. Metallurgical industry: It is used as a chlorination leaching agent for extracting gold and silver.
6. Organic industry: It is used as a catalyst (such as in esterification reactions), an oxidant and a chlorinating agent.
7. Glass industry: It is used as a hot colorant for glassware.
8. Soap-making industry: It is used as a coagulant for recovering glycerin from soap waste liquid.
